Each woodcut is hand-printed. Therefore, color nuances as well as the evenness of the color may vary from one piece to another. There are only a few of each color combination, and each piece is numbered and signed.
The woodcut is printed using the mosaic technique: After the motif is carved into the woodblock, the block is sawn apart like a jigsaw puzzle. Each "piece" can therefore be inked in its own color before the block is reassembled and printed.
