1986. Adrien, Étienne and Nina are ten years old when they meet at school and quickly become inseparable. They promise themselves and each other that when they grow up, they will leave the provincial backwater they live in and move to Paris.
2017. A car with a dead body inside is found at the bottom of a lake in the small town where the three friends grew up. Local journalist Virginie covers the case and finds a connection to the three friends, who are no longer on speaking terms. Bit by bit, she uncovers the extraordinary bonds that unite these three childhood friends. As Virginie comes closer to the surprising truth, friendships break apart and new ones form.
Valérie Perrin has a remarkable ability to portray life's small and great joys and sorrows. In Tre she takes readers through a series of heartbreaking events and revelations spanning three decades.
