Knitting for Olive Pure Silk is a soft, exclusive yarn made from pure bourette silk (raw silk). The yarn is produced from wild silk, which means that the pupae are collected after the larvae have hatched and become butterflies. This way, you avoid exposing the pupae to extreme heat, which would mean that the larvae would die in the process.
Silk has heat-regulating properties, making it a material that can be used all year round. Silk can absorb moisture equivalent to 30% of its weight without feeling damp and heavy, making the yarn very suitable for use in the summer.
At the same time, silk, like wool, is insulating and retains heat when it is cold.
The small butterfly on the banner indicates that the caterpillars are allowed to turn into butterflies.
