The beautiful yarn from Knitting for Olive consists of 100% pure merino wool. The wool comes from sheep in Patagonia, where mulesing does not occur. The wool can be traced directly back to the farm it comes from.
Merino wool has a wide range of good properties. The wool is temperature-regulating. This means that the wool retains body heat in cold weather, and releases heat when the skin needs to be kept cool in hot weather. At the same time, wool, like silk, can transport moisture away from the skin, and the wool can absorb 30% of its weight without feeling wet.
Wool is also dirt-repellent and requires minimal care.
The yarn is produced in Italy. Their spinning mill follows ethical and environmentally friendly practices to create a yarn free of harmful substances.
