Beautiful hand-thrown and hand-painted ceramic plate from Horezu. Painted using a traditional Romanian method, which is recognized as part of UNESCO's World Heritage.
13-15Ø
Once the ceramic is fully shaped, it is hand-painted, and multiple layers of paint are applied to create beautiful, unique decorations.
After the first firing at 850-950 degrees, the ceramic is glazed with a water-based glaze. It is then left to dry and fired a second time at 1000-1100 degrees.
The ceramics were originally intended for decorative use.
The ceramics can also be used for table settings and are food-safe. We recommend hand-washing them to extend their durability.
The meeting of clay and the many layers of paint can create small crack-like lines. These are not to be considered defects, but are normal to encounter in this type of ceramic.
